Volunteers

We’re pleased to have Carolyn Stocker as the volunteer coordinator for this year! Carolyn is a runner with years of experience pacing racers and organizing hundreds of volunteers for trail races and ultras. With several years on our race committee, Carolyn knows all the ins and outs of the 7 Sisters Trail Race.

Race volunteers help in a number of ways:

  • Water Stations
  • Registration Table
  • Halfway Turnaround
  • Parking
  • Set-up/Takedown
  • Finish Line
  • Medical Attention

Buckhout Award

The Ted and Merle Buckhout Award recognizes a volunteer who goes above and beyond, and embodies the enthusiasm of the Seven Sisters Trail Race.

Ted and Merle Buckhout love the Seven Sisters Trail Race, and gave not only their time, energy, and enthusiasm, but also their property.  A few years ago, the trail near the turn-around was moved, so we no longer use the Buckhout’s property.  However, if you competed between 1991 and 2017, then Ted and Merle have taken care of you and supported you out there, whether you know it or not.

To honor Ted and Merle, as well as members of our community who share such passion for the race, we have created the Ted and Merle Buckhout Award, which will annually be given to someone who exemplifies what Ted and Merle have brought to this event.
